First of all I am sorry for the confusion. The proof of the Lemma used to reference Lemma 9.3 when in fact it refers to Lemma 9.4.

Now the trick is just to set $n=m$ in the Cauchy-criterion to get the definition of convergence to $0$. This way we see that convergence of the sequence $a_k$ is directly implied.
