EXPERIMENTAL LAW AND ECONOMICS The course is about the methodology of experimental research in economics and covers selected

topics in economics and law and economics. The aims of this part are: (a) To enable you to access experimental economics literature; (b) To present empirical research in important areas of economics; (c) To introduce a methodology for doing research. The topics presented are heavily influenced by my research interest and do not give a representative sampling of what has been done in experimental economics or all that is currently on the experimental research frontier. The goal of these lectures is to familiarize you with the methodology and enable you to think also about what else could be done with it. In addition there will be three lectures by Stefania Bortolotti, Francesca Pancotto, and Maria Bigoni. Students are expected to contribute actively to the class discussion. Doing one or more readings beforehand helps you in adding to class discussions. Students are also expected to: (a) Complete one or two homework assignments; (b) Write an extension or a critical assessment of an experimental paper of your choice and a proposal for a new experiment.
